Good advice
Sensible footwear
We recommend sensible footwear to the Carnival, and by sensible is meant
footwear with thick soles. Especially in the parade, where shattered glass
and other sharp objects can occur on the street, so you can easily
get injured. Every year, lots of people get injured this way, so we
recommend that you are prepared for such situations from home.
Flammable textiles
To prevent any fire damages, be aware of flammable textiles and
of the fastening on them. Contact adhesive is for example highly
flammable, so pay special attention to the fact that clothing should not get
too close to the body, if contact adhesive is used. In the event of
fire, it can be vital that you are able to get you clothes off - so
be aware of the fact that clothes, headgear and other objects are
not fastened too carefully.
Attention to
first aid stations
Make sure to be informed about the placement of toilet facilities and
first aid stations in both Kildeparken and especially along the parade route.
Quick access can be necessary, so it will be of help to notice the
location of these, both for you and the other guests.
Drink plenty of water
Make sure to drink plenty of water the Carnival -
that way you can avoid dehydration.
Prepare your trip home
Make sure to have you trip home planned in advance. That way it is
not a concern when the day is out.
Check out our offer on night bus tickets on May 28th, and consider buying a ticket in advance. You can do it online here
Enhanced effort from the authorities:
Shopping carts
It is no longer allowed to bring shopping carts to the parade.
You can bring your own handcart for beer, bagage and similar items,
which is brought home afterwards. It is not appropriate that the
stores in Aalborg loose all of their shopping carts in connection to the
Carnival - nor that the streets are littered with them when the parade
is over.
Drugs
It is illegal to bring, sell or use any forms of psychedelic
drugs.
Illegal sale of beer
This year there will be enhanced supervision on illegal sale of
beer, especially along the parade - there will be a strong action
on preventing this. Also violence and fights will not be
tolerated along the route, or in Kildeparken.
Illegal sale
- from SKAT
SKAT - Danish taxes - has made an enhanced effort against illegal
sales along the parade. Both at the starting points and along the
great parade in mid-town.
Extended service
More toilets
There will be placed more toilets than before along the route,
for easier and faster access.
Advanced emergency room
This year there will be placed an advanced emergency room close to Kildeparken for faster help to the injured, and to ease the emergency
room at the South Hospital in Aalborg. At the advanced emergency
room there will be a staff of nurses and doctors ready to help.
More first aid stations
There will be placed more first aid stations along the route so
there will be opportunities for faster first aid and treatment of
minor injuries.
We hope that these advice and initiatives will contribute to a
better and safer carnival for everyone.
Take care of yourself and each other - we look forward to seeing you
at this years greatest party!
